Life up here in Cairns runs at a different pace. Slower, relaxed.
In spite of the heat, or maybe because of it, life is chill. Summer days pass slowly in a haze, a dip in the creek to cool down. Shorter warm days in Winter bring respite from the heat, the arrival of southern sun-seekers and a collective sigh of relief at the cooler nights.
It’s hard to be hurried up here. So don’t resist, slow down to our pace. Forget the hustle and bustle for a moment, tear up the to-do list and daydream a while.
